On Thursday 23rd November 2023, Sentinel in partnership with Australian Embassy, through AHHA Education (SOHLS) conducted a ceremony of certification of English Language Level I, the course that took place over the span of 7 months for 60+ of our Guards assigned to DFAT/ Australian Embassy In Timor Leste. The objective is to teach and upskill our guard force on the English Language for workplace.
Attending the Ceremony was Australian Embassy Security Adviser, Mr Stuart Trebilco who left few words:

“The Australian Embassy was very excited to be a part of the inaugural English language certification presentation ceremony for the Sentinel Guard Service. The Embassy has forged a strong partnership with Sentinel who are responsible for the guarding and protection of our assets and facilities in Timor-Leste. As part of our partnership with Sentinel, the guards are provided English language training to improve their self-development and communications skills, and recently completed a 7 month course at AHHA SOLS training institute in Dili.

Congratulations to all certificate recipients, we are proud to continue our support of this important initiative in the development of the local Timorese workforce.”

During the ceremony representatives of the Students offer their respect and honored Mr. Stuart, Security Adviser for the Australian Embassy, Mr. Paulo Passos, Managing Director of Sentinel, Mr. Adam Taylor, International Director of AHHA Education and Mr. Naoto Motomatsu, Director AHHA Education with the offer of Tais – traditional craft handmade by elder ladies – and Traditional Dance Group.

This is just one more way that Sentinel supports a Continuous Improvement Strategy to train, upskill and increase the confidence of its workforce within Timor Leste . By undertaking training events like these, Sentinel static guarding teams will be ready to communicate to in the line of active duty and outside.
